What you'll experience

Skills you can take home and use

Every session runs hands-on, and every day has its own lineup. Bring questions, bring gloves, bring the children.

Gardening & food growing

Beds, soil, seed saving and season planning for Georgia dirt.

Homesteading workshops

Preserving, animals, tools and the daily rhythm of a working place.

Off-grid & self-reliance

Water, power, heat and food storage when nothing is plugged in.

New this year

Off-grid radio communications

GMRS, ham and shortwave basics. Antennas, repeaters, range testing across the property, and building a family comms plan for when cell service is gone.

Tours of the 460 acres

Walk the land, see the plats, water and where the roads are going in.

Meet landowners & neighbors

Sit down with the families already building here and the ones just starting.

Live demos & Q&A

Open sessions with people who do this work every day. Ask anything.

Archery

Stance, draw and release on the range, with safety first and arrows in the target before you leave. Children welcome on the line.

Homestead Design 101

How to lay out a place before you build it — siting the house, barn and garden around sun, water, drainage and access.

No two days are the same. Each of the four days runs its own lineup of sessions — plus a few surprise activities we're saving to announce in person, on the land. Come for a single day and you'll get a full one; come for all four and nothing repeats.

Where you'll stay

Bring a tent and stay on the land

Camping is what makes the evenings. Stay one night, all four, or drive home each evening — it's up to you.

On the land

Please bring a tent

Camping on the property is the best way to do this event, and we'd love for you to bring a tent, camper or RV. Evenings around the fire — fellowship, good food and quiet Georgia sky — are half of why people come back. Sites are primitive, so plan to be self-contained: tent, bedding, water and warm layers for November nights.
